Understanding your subscription

Your Minibuddies subscription determines your plan (Starter, Pro, or Pro+), credit quota, and agent access. You can change plans at any time. This guide explains how upgrades and downgrades work, how billing is handled, and how to manage your subscription.

Upgrading your plan

When you need more credits or features, upgrading gives you immediate access to the new plan.

How to upgrade

1

Go to billing or subscription settings

From the dashboard, open Settings or Billing (or the subscription management section). Look for Upgrade or Change plan.
2

Select your new plan

Choose the plan you want -Pro or Pro+ (or a higher Pro+ tier). You’ll see the new price and what’s included.
3

Confirm and pay

Review the change. You may be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing cycle. Complete the payment to apply the upgrade.
4

Immediate access

Your new plan is active right away. Credits and features update immediately. You can start using the higher quota and additional agents (or custom agents on Pro+) without waiting.

Proration on upgrades

When you upgrade mid-cycle, you typically pay only the prorated difference for the remaining days in your current billing period. For example, if you upgrade from Starter to Pro 10 days into a 30-day cycle, you pay about two-thirds of the price difference for those remaining 20 days. Your next full invoice will reflect the new plan price.
Upgrading is instant. If you’re running low on credits, upgrading immediately restores your usage with the new plan’s quota.

Downgrading your plan

When you want to reduce costs, you can downgrade. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period, not immediately.

How to downgrade

1

Go to billing or subscription settings

Open Settings or Billing. Look for Change plan or Downgrade.
2

Select a lower plan

Choose Starter or Pro (or a lower Pro+ tier if applicable). You’ll see what will change: credits, agents, and price.
3

Confirm the downgrade

Review the change. The downgrade will take effect at the end of your current billing period. You’ll keep your current plan’s features until then.
4

Access until period ends

You continue to have full access to your current plan until the billing period ends. After that, your new plan (and its limits) applies.
Plan ahead. If you’ve used more credits or agents than the lower plan allows, you may hit limits when the downgrade takes effect. Consider your usage before downgrading.

No refunds on downgrades

When you downgrade, you don’t receive a refund for the current period. You’ve already paid for it, and you keep access until the period ends. Your next invoice will reflect the lower plan price.

Billing cycle

  • Monthly billing - You’re charged each month on the same date (e.g., the 1st or the date you subscribed).
  • Credits reset - Your credit quota resets at the start of each billing cycle. Unused credits do not roll over.
  • Automatic renewal - Your subscription renews automatically each period unless you cancel.

Managing your subscription

Update payment method

To update your credit card or payment details:
  1. Go to Settings or Billing.
  2. Find Payment method or Update payment.
  3. Enter your new payment details. Changes take effect for the next invoice.

View usage

Check your credit usage and limits in the dashboard. Usage is typically shown in Settings, Billing, or a dedicated Usage section. This helps you decide when to upgrade or whether you’re on the right plan.

Cancel subscription

To cancel:
  1. Go to Settings or Billing.
  2. Find Cancel subscription or Manage subscription.
  3. Follow the steps to cancel. You’ll retain access until the end of your current billing period. No further charges will occur after cancellation.
Cancellation does not trigger a refund for the current period. See our refund policy for details.

Frequently asked questions

Can I switch plans multiple times?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade as often as you need. There are no restrictions on how many times you can change plans. Just be aware that downgrades take effect at the end of the current period.

What happens to my projects/chats when I downgrade?

Your chats and data remain. The plan change affects only your credit quota and agent access. If you downgrade to Starter (5 agents), you’ll need to choose which 5 agents to keep. Custom agents (Pro+) may not be available on lower plans - check plan details before downgrading.

Do I lose credits when I upgrade?

No. Upgrading gives you the new plan’s credit quota immediately. You don’t lose existing credits; you gain more.

Can I pause my subscription?

Subscription pausing depends on the current product features. Check Settings or Billing for a pause option. If not available, you can cancel and resubscribe later. Your data may be retained for a period - confirm with support.
